Profile and background:
Sérgio Renault is one of the founding partners of the firm. He acts in several relevant public civil actions, administrative misconduct actions, parliamentary committees of investigations, tendering processes in infrastructure projects, contractual negotiations involving labor and commercial matters.
Between 1989 and 1992 Mr. Renault was chief of staff of the Municipal Department of Finance, Municipal Secretary of Administrative Reform and Municipal Secretary of the Administration of the City of São Paulo. In these positions he was responsible for negotiating with suppliers of products and services of various types, preparing and conducting tendering processes for the purchase of products and contracting of various services, collective negotiation with the representatives of municipal public servants and preparation of the decentralization project of the Municipal Administration with the creation of ward offices. He was a member of the Board of Directors of municipal public companies of public transport and transit.
In the Federal Government he was Secretary of Judicial Reform of the Ministry of Justice (2003 to 2005), having been responsible for coordinating the negotiation of the project that resulted in Constitutional Amendment No. 45 which, among other provisions, created the National Council of Justice (CNJ).
He also coordinated the drafting of several complementary bills of law that changed civil and labor procedural legislation. In addition, Mr. Renault created the Innovare Award in 2004.
He was deputy head of legal affairs of the Civil House of the Presidency of the Republic (2005 to 2006), being responsible for the head of the legal advice and advisory of the Presidency of the Republic. In this position he prepared the orders of the Presidency of the Republic and coordinated the drafting, discussion and negotiation of several bills, provisional measures, vetoes, sanctions and presidential decrees.
He was a member of the Board of Directors of several private companies. He has been the CEO of the Innovare Institute since its inception and a member of the Roberto Marinho Foundation’s Board of Trustees since 2012.
